Day 9 - 5 September 2016 - Magic Kingdom

Day 8 Typhoon Lagoon

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon was the destination for day 8.  Sat Nav was set and off we went.

Now the Sat Nav we are using is the TomTom app on Trudy's iPhone.  The connection to the in car entertainment system (ICE) is via a USB cable, this results in the ICE firing up Trudy's iTunes on connection a playing the first tune alphabetically in her library, so every journey starts off with a blast of "Abide with me" strangely prophetic for our journeys!!  (In Trudy's defence it is from a Russell Watson Christmas album). The other peculiarity about the TomTom is the way the voice (Serena) pronounces some of the road names, particularly Boulevard, which sounds like "Booolevarrdeee" much to our amusement and impersonations - there are a lot of Booolevarrdeee's in the USA.

Typhoon Lagoon features a "Lazy river" which circumnavigates the park, and is very relaxing and we had several laps on, a wave pool and numerous rides.  We also indulged in a bucket and spade of ice cream.  Obviously we left most of the electronic devices at home so they didn't get wet..... this is the only photo from the day.......

Day 9 Magic Kingdom

We found Tinkerbell
5 September 2016 is Labor Day (without an "u") and it is like an UK Bank Holiday in the USA.  Anyway we decided to head off to Magic Kingdom for a day of fun on the rides and wandering around the park in the daylight.   Along with appointments with several rides using our "Fast Passes", an official way to queue jump. The Monsters Ic. Laughing floor was really funny and a great way to start the day. Simon and Jodie sat space mountain out, Jenny and Trudy loved it! We all enjoyed the serene glide of Peter Pans flight. Gaston's tavern was our pit stop for a drink and looked exactly like it does in the film, right down to the Chandeliers made from Hunting 'trophy's'. Jodie and Jenny devoured the biggest 'Cinnabun' we have ever seen, leaving Simon to mop up the last few measly crumbs!

We can certainly appreciate why it is described as 'the magic of Disney'.
